This tour presents the baroque style in Provence, through a group of paintings, drawings and prints by Jean Daret, exhibited together for the first time in the exhibition Jean Daret. The king's painter in Provence (15 june-29 September, 2024).
This Flemish artist settled in Aix-en-Provence during the main expansion of the city in the 17TH century with the creation of the Cours Mirabeau and Mazarin district and worked both for private dignitaries and religious orders.
